Fiji faces financial collapse
A delegation of tribal chiefs has met the leader of the attempted coup in Fiji, George Speight, to ask him to end three weeks of deadlock by releasing the hostages he is holding in parliament, including the country's prime minister. After three weeks of civil crisis, the island nation is facing financial collapse. Its main industries of tourism, sugar and clothing have been crippled.
