Trezeguet linked with Lazio move
David Trezegust and French team-mates
David Trezeguet (top) could be on his way to Serie A
France striker David Trezeguet is the target of interest from Italian champions Lazio.

The young Monaco player has been linked with moves away from the French league for some time and the transfer could become a possibility if his current club accept Croatian striker Alen Boksic as part of the deal.

Boksic - who once played for Marseille - has been on the bench for much of the last season and the prospect of him joining along with a cash adjustment may be too tempting for Monaco to refuse.

From a personal standpoint, a move to Lazio would suit Trezeguet, whose Argentinian background - he was brought up in Buenos Aires - would allow him to fit in quickly with other South American stars such as Juan Veron.

Trezeguet is one of very few players in the France squad who actually play their club football in their homeland.

The vast majority currently play for clubs in Italy's Serie A or in the English Premiership.
