Concern over Berg and Heggem
![]() Henning Berg: late scare for Norway
Norway coach Nils Semb has three injury worries on his mind as he prepares his team for their opening match of Euro 2000.
With the game against Spain closing in, striker Steffen Iversen, defender Henning Berg and fullback Vegard Heggem are still fighting fitness battles.
The good news for Semb came when Berg insisted on Thursday that he would be fit.
Heggem left a training session on the same day clutching an icepack to his calf, but told reporters he expected to be ready for the Spain match. All three are expected to play if fit. Man United centre-half Berg is crucial to Norway's hopes of progressing to the second round, the experienced rock on whom the defence is built. Heggem, despite a difficult season at Liverpool, provides an attacking threat with his over-lapping runs in addition to his defensive worth.
