Swedish court sentences four Iranian immigrants
A Swedish court has sentenced three Iranian immigrants to prison for their involvement in a discotheque fire two years ago in which more than sixty teenagers died. They received jail terms of between six and eight years for their role in starting the fire at a Macedonian cultural centre, where about four-hundred young people -- many of them Macedonian and Somali immigrants -- were attending a Halloween dance. A fourth man who was under eighteen at the time was sentenced to three years in juvenile detention. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
