Tourists scrape unconvincing win

WI 176 & 97, Glamorgan 140 & 113
WI win by 20 runs West Indies secured a 20-run victory over Glamorgan, after a late fightback at Sophia Gardens.
After the game, Glamorgan captain Steve James admitted his side were disappointed not to have built on a promising start. "We always knew it was going to be hard on this wicket," he said. "As the score suggests it was a low-scoring game and was not easy to bat on.
Glamorgan started well with both skipper James and Matthew Elliott notching up 49 inside the first 15 overs. But when James departed it prompted the Welsh county's demise. Nixon McLean ended the day as West Indies' hero, taking 5-30.
Adams later saluted his side's performance. "It was very close," he said. "But we're getting used to that. "Both teams had a similar experience with the bat, but all credit to my players for hanging in there." Scorecard:
