Microsoft to fight ruling

The American computer software giant, Microsoft, has been ordered to split into two separate businesses. The ruling comes after a 10 year legal case brought by the American government. The judge, Thomas Penfield Jackson, says Microsoft has deliberately stifled competition. The Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates, says the ruling was an unwarranted interference, and he will appeal against it.
