Overmars doubt for Rijkaard
![]() Overmars is Rijkaard's only injury question mark
Marc Overmars' strained right thigh is Holland coach Frank Rijkaard's only injury concern going into the joint host and pre-tournament favourite's Euro 2000 opener with the Czech Republic on 11 June.
Arsenal winger Overmars is currently training alone, sources at Holland's Hoenderloo training camp said on Wednesday, after a training session that Rijkaard described as "animated". Meanwhile, Rijkaard and assistant Johan Neeskens have added to their team of spies for preparing scouting reports on Group D rivals France, the Czech Republic and Denmark. While Overmars' muscle strain is causing some worry, goalkeeper Sander Westerveld is expected to ignore a troublesome ankle injury to stay in contention for a place in Holland's starting line-up at Euro 2000.
"My ankle hasn't prevented me from training hard," the Liverpool goalkeeper said. "I feel great apart from my ankle which is still troubling me. "I suppose it really needs rest so all the blood can get out of it, but Euro 2000 makes that impossible."
