Communities block Lebanese border lines

United Nations efforts to confirm a new border between Lebanon and Israel have run into difficulties because of disputes over the status of two communities.

Lebanese residents of a village Ghajar which was captured by the Israelis while it was under Syrian control in 1967 are objecting to plans to run the new border through it.

They've been demonstrating on the streets, burning tyres and setting up roadblocks.

The other stumbling block is an Israeli kibbutz collective farm at Misgav'Am where last-minute differences with Israel have forced the UN to delay certification of the border.
