Rosu joins Numancia
![]() Romania international Rosu has moved to Spain
Romania international Laurentiu Rosu has joined Spanish first division side Numancia for a fee of around £800,000.
The Steaua Bucharest favourite, a member of Romania's squad for the Euro 2000 finals, has signed a four-year contract with the Primera Liga outfit. Numancia had an indifferent season, battling against relegation and eventually finishing sixth from bottom. Rosu joined Steaua in 1993 and went on to win five Romanian league titles and three Romanian cups. Controversial The left-sided midfielder has a good international goalscoring record, scoring twice from four starts during Romania's Euro 2000 qualifiers. But his debut for the national team in October 1998 against Portugal ended in controversial fashion when he was sent off. Romania face Germany in their opening match on Monday 12 June and are currently quoted at 66-1 to go all the way at Euro 2000.
