Madonna predicts property slump

Pop star Madonna has decided to postpone plans to buy a new home in London - until prices fall.
The star, who is currently expecting her second child, described current property prices as "disgusting".
Although there have been signs of a slowdown in price rises in the past two months, the multi-millionaire star is keen to wait for more of a slump. She gave her thoughts on the state of the property market at the premiere of her new film, The Next Best Thing, in Leicester Square on Tuesday night. The 41-year-old singer and actress wore an ankle-length black dress and long frock coat through which her bump was clearly visible. Waiting for slump It came as she was pressed on whether she intended to make London her home. Madonna, with co-star Rupert Everett nodding in agreement, said: "House prices are too expensive here, I'm not going to buy yet. "I'm waiting for a slump. It's disgusting." The star did buy a four storey home in Chelsea for £3.7m in November, but later decided to sell it - reportedly because of security fears. But she said she remained keen on the UK, adopting a British accent to say: "I love the countryside, I love a nice glass of stout and I love my boyfriend." Madonna also confessed to cravings for eggs, olives and crisps as she proudly showed off her swelling tummy at the premiere of her latest movie. The child is due in September.
