Fryatt secures US Open place
Fryatt
Fryatt will start at Pebble Beach
Edward Fryatt has booked his place in next week's US Open, after winning a play-off at Rockville in Maryland.

Fryatt joins several other international players who will play at Pebble Beach as a result of sectional qualifying events around the United States.

The Rochdale-born golfer has already earned just under £250,000 on the USPGA Tour this year.

His best finish came when joint-third at the MCI Classic in April and he has also recorded top-10 finishes at the Doral-Ryder Open and the Phoenix Open.

Also qualifying at Woodmont Country Club were Japan's Shigeki Maruyama, New Zealand's Frank Nobilo, Australia's Craig Spence, Canada's Richard Zokol and South Africa's David Frost.

Another 118 golfers seeking 20 available spots in Summit, New Jersey, will play on Wendnesday due to rain.
