Eritrea claims a victory

The Eritrean government says its forces have driven Ethiopian soldiers out of the far-western town of Tessene, about 250 kilometres from the Eritrean capital, Asmara. The Eritreans say the battle began at dawn on Monday, and continued through the day. The fighting has caused thousands more civilians to flee their homes for temporary camps.
