Anthea Turner reveals wedding day
Anthea Turner
Neither "thrones or tiaras" will feature at the wedding
Television personality Anthea Turner has confirmed that she will wed video millionaire Grant Bovey on 26 August.

Their "traditional" ceremony will be attended by about 300 family and friends at the couple's mansion in Dunsfold, Surrey.

Ms Turner said: "I am very excited about it. Obviously Grant and I are looking forward to the day."

We haven't sent the invitations out yet

The former Blue Peter presenter separated from her first husband - BBC Radio One DJ Peter Powell - in 1998.

They had been married eight years but blamed heavy workloads for the split.

Ms Turner stressed that there would be "no thrones or tiaras" at her second wedding - interpreted as a reference to the lavish wedding of Victoria and David Beckham.

Marriage licence refused

The couple will nonetheless have to wed legally at a local register office in the days leading up to their 26 August ceremony as they were refused a marriage licence for their home.

A disappointed Grant Bovey said that "didn't come as a great surprise".

Anthea Turner revealed that "we haven't sent the invitations out yet, we are a bit behind on that.

"But our friends have known for ages and it's been in the planning stage for quite some time."

Mr Bovey said he did not expect his former wife, Della, or Miss Turner's ex-husband, Peter Powell, to attend their celebrations.
