He has come through from the Slovenian under-21 team, playing in all 10 of their qualifying games for the European Championship at that level, and captained the side in the latter part of the campaign.

With youth on his side, if, as seems likely, he doesn't get his chance in Holland and Belgium, he should have plenty of opportunities ahead of him.

He has recently left the Slovenian club scene where he played for Murska Sobota after signing for Club Bruges.
