Bayern want Djorkaeff

Kaiserslautern's unsettled French striker Youri Djorkaeff, who proved his fitness for Euro 2000 in a testimonial match on Sunday, has received an offer from German champions Bayern Munich.
Djorkaeff, who injured his thigh in early April, said he would make a decision about his club future after Euro 2000. There has been considerable media speculation that Djorkaeff might return to Paris St Germain, but until now Kaiserslautern have flatly refused to release him. The French team's top scorer, who is currently at a two-week training camp with the World Cup winners near Paris, described his club situation as "slightly strange". "I'm still under contract for two years with my club. But we'll take a decision after the European championships," said Djorkaeff.
The 32-year-old arrived at Kaiserslautern on a free transfer from Inter Milan in August 1999, but he has been unhappy with the team and has made no secret of his wish to leave. Injured since 8 April Djorkaeff blamed the lack of medical care at Kaiserlautern for missing the final two matches of the German season. He has also said if coach Otto Rehhagel leaves the club he would go too. Despite Kaiserslautern's insistence that Djorkaeff is not for sale, the Frenchman has also said he has had enough of the provincial Bundesliga team and would like to return to city life.
