Burundi rebels attack travellers
Security officials in Burundi say rebels have shot and killed five people and wounded several others in an attack just five kilometres west of the capital, Bujumbura. The officials said a large group of Hutu rebels had stopped vehicles at Kajaga on a popular road along the shores of Lake Tanganyika on Sunday night. Survivors and officials said the rebels has separated Tutsi passengers from Hutus, before shooting dead the Tutsis. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
