Dumfries Sheriff Court
The man is appearing at Dumfries Sheriff Court
A man is due to appear in court at Dumfries following the death of a three-year-old girl.

Kennedy McFarlane was taken to Dumfries Infirmary last Wednesday where she died.

Detectives have been investigating the circumstances leading up to the little girl's admission to hospital and have interviewed neighbours around her home in the Lincluden housing estate.

Kennedy McFarlane: Died in hospital
Kennedy lived there with her mother Vicky, who has been seperated from her husband for about two years.

Mrs McFarlane had been taken to the hospital hours before her daughter and was discharged after treatment.

Meanwhile doctors tried to save the life of the little girl but her condition was described as critical and she died a short time later.

At the time, police would only say that inquiries were being carried out.

They received the results of a post-mortem examination at the weekend.
