Italians keen to stay at Chelsea
![]() Zola and di Matteo signal their intentions
Italian stars Roberto di Matteo and Gianfranco Zola have denied reports thay they are looking for a move back to Serie A.
Both players say they would like to carry on playing for FA Cup winners Chelsea next season, despite reports that many members of Gianluca Vialli's side will be sold off in the summer. Wembley goal hero di Matteo said: "I've got two years left and I want to stay here at Chelsea and finish my career.
"There has always been speculation, but I want to stay."
Zola has often said in the past that he would like to finish his career with his home town club Cagliari, but he now seems hopeful of negotiating a prolonged spell in the Premiership at Stamford Bridge. "I don't know exactly what's going to happen - but the feelings I have for this club are very important to me. "I have never known the spirit like I have felt at Chelsea. I can go many places and win many things yet, but it wouldn't be the same as here. "For a player to be loved like I am by the fans is fantastic. "I love Chelsea, I love the game here, I hope I can stay. It's something that the manager has to decide, but I would love the chance to stay here... I consider myself very fortunate."
