29 dead in Turkish boating accident

At least twenty-nine people, many of them children, are now known to have drowned in a boat accident on Saturday off Turkey's Black Sea coast.

Turkish officials say at least fourteen others are still missing.

The accident happened after a sudden strong wind blew up, causing two rowing boats taking part in a local festival to capsize near the northern port of Besikduzu.

Officials said the boats were overloaded -- the two captains have been arrested and an inquiry opened into the accident.
