24 die in Turkish boating accident

Turkish officials say at least twenty-four people, including several children, have drowned in a boating accident in the northern port town of Besikduzu.

The accident happened after a sudden strong wind caused two boats to capsize.

Some ten people are still missing, and the authorities say they're continuing the search for survivors overnight.

Turkish television said the boats -- which were taking part in a local sea festival -- had been overloaded.
