Congratulations pour in for Blair baby

The residence of the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair and his wife, Cherie has been inundated by messages of congratulations following the birth of their baby son, Leo.

They included good wishes from international leaders and Mr Blair's political opponents.

It's the couple's fourth child and he was named after Mr Blair's father.

Attention is now focused on how much time the prime minister will devote to helping bring up the baby.

Although his government has given fathers a legal right to parental leave, he himself has resisted pressure - notably from Cherie - to take time off work.

Instead, he's said he'll cut down on his workload for a while. Speaking outside his residence earlier, Mr Blair said he'd been present throughout the labour, which he said took quite a few hours.

He described it as a very moving experience.
