British pop star on Mozambique mission

The British pop singer Robbie Williams is touring Mozambique to highlight the problems of reconstruction following the disastrous floods there in February and March.

The singer is also trying to draw attention to the impact of HIV and AIDs on Mozambique.

A BBC correspondent travelling with Robbie Williams says seven hundred people died in the floods, but the same number are infected with HIV in Mozambique every day, and the country has virtually no HIV testing centres.

The singer is travelling as a good will ambassador on behalf of the United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF.
