Grenade attack on Haiti election HQ

Reports from Haiti say five people were injured when unidentified attackers threw a grenade at the headquarters of the country's Provisional Election Council.

Witnesses said the victims, some of whom were seriously wounded, had simply been walking past the building.

The attack is the latest outbreak of violence in the run-up to parliamentary elections which are due to take place on Sunday.

In recent weeks, there have been around fifteen politically motivated murders.

The much delayed election is intended to restore parliament which was dissolved last year by President Rene Preval.
