| The two men, Thomas E. Blanton Junior and Bobby Frank Cherry, both in their sixties, are charged with eight counts of murder. The bombing of the 16th Sreet Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, was one of many hate crimes that helped to galvanise the US Civil Rights Movement. BBC's Paul Reynolds reports.
