British football team loses to Tripoli

The English Premier League team, Middlesbrough, has become the first British side to play in Libya since the 1988 bombing of an American airliner over Lockerbie in Scotland.

Two Libyans are on trial, accused of carrying out the bombing.

Middlesbrough lost one-nil to Tripoli in a special tournament to inaugurate a new stadium -- the Great Man-Made River Stadium. It's named after a vast Libyan project to supply the country's northern cities with water from Aquifers in the south. An Italian team, Bari, also took part in the tournament.

A son of the Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, was among the players for the Tripoli side.
