Amoruso could be off

Amoruso believes there is no respect left in the game
Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso believes he has played his last game for the SPL champions, according to the club's official newspaper.

The defender, in Italy recovering from injury, has said he fears for his Rangers future despite there being two years left on his current contract.

Amoruso said communication had broken down between himself and manager Dick Advocaat.

Dick Advocaat
Advocaat is unlikely to be happy with his captain
The Italian insisted there was "no respect" left in the game.

"The news from Glasgow is that they want to sell me. I haven't spoken to Dick Advocaat and I don't want to speak to him. I spoke to him to tell him about the operation and that was it," Amoruso told Rangers News.

"It looks like I will be leaving Rangers. When the team need you they do everything for you. When they don't need you they kick you in the backside.

"But there is just no respect in football. I know that sounds very bitter but it is very true.

"I have two years left on my contract and I don't want to go but if they don't want to keep you, then you can't stay.

"Yet I do love Glasgow. It is their choice so I will only go if I want to go to a team who comes in for me."

Craig Moore
Craig Moore: Out of final
Rangers Supporters' Club secretary, John McMillan, believes Amoruso may have gone too far in his criticism to stay at the club.

"It will be a hard way back for Amoruso now. I can't see a man like Dick Advocaat taking too kindly to those remarks, particularly if he hasn't spoken to him about it," said McMillan.

"Advocaat is obviously an Amoruso fan and has made that clear on a number of occasions.

"So what he has done to deserve this, I just don't know. It is puzzling and the fans will be disappointed by his remarks.

Amoruso's central defensive partner, Craig Moore, is also out of the Scottish Cup final.

He has failed to recover in time from an operation and is short of match fitness going into the season's finale.
