Iran to free more Iraqi POWs

Iran says it's to release another batch of Iraqi prisoners of war next week.

The head of Iran's commission on POWs, Abdollah Najafi, said four-hundred and sixty would be handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross next Tuesday. This would bring the number of prisoners of war returned to Iraq since early April to around three-thousand.

The official said the Red Cross had agreed to look into the cases of around three-thousand Iranian prisoners of war Tehran believes are still held in Iraqi jails.
