Zoff names 26-man squad
![]() Zoff has made three surprise inclusions in his 26-man squad
Italy coach Dino Zoff has named 26 players from which he will choose his final 22 for Euro 2000.
The three most surprising inclusions are Angelo di Livio, Dino Baggio and the Roma goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli, all of whom it was thought had played for the Azzurri for the last time.
The only surprise exclusion is Lazio's Simone Inzaghi, although his brother, Filippo, who plays for Juventus has been included. Angelo Peruzzi, the Inter Milan keeper, was expected to be Italy's third choice in goal, but he ruled himself out giving Antonioli the chance instead. Provisional squad Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Parma), Francesco Toldo (Fiorentina), Francesco Antonioli (Roma). Defenders: Fabio Cannavaro (Parma), Alessandro Nesta (Lazio), Ciro Ferrara (Juventus), Mark Iuliano (Juventus), Paolo Maldini (Milan), Paolo Negro (Lazio), Gianluca Pessotto (Juventus), Giuseppe Pancaro (Lazio). Midfielders: Massimo Ambrosini (AC Milan), Demetrio Albertini (Milan), Dino Baggio (Parma), Antonio Conte (Juventus), Angelo Di Livio (Fiorentina), Stefano Fiore (Udinese), Diego Fuser (Parma), Gianluca Zambrotta (Juventus), Luigi Di Biagio (Inter). Forwards: Filippo Inzaghi (Juventus), Christian Vieri (Inter), Francesco Totti (AS Roma), Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus), Vincenzo Montella (AS Roma), Marco Delvecchio (AS Roma).
