Musharraf leaves Turkmenistan
The Pakistani military leader, General Musharraf, has left Turkmenistan, ending his first visit to Central Asia after taking power last year. General Musharraf and the President of Turkmenistan, Saparmurat Niyazov, held talks on increasing economic and defence co-operation. Among the issues they discussed was the development of a natural gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
