Bank raiders hunted after robbery

A "substantial" amount of money was stolen after two men broke into a bank as security guards filled a cash machine, police said.

The robbers, dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks, broke down the front door of Halifax Bank in Albany Road, Roath, at around 2320 BST on Tuesday.

The men were not armed and the guards were not injured. They made their escape in a dark coloured VW Golf car.

South Wales Police are appealing for information about the incident.
