'Quake zone' satellite images

Newly-released satellite imagery shows previously unseen areas hit by the recent earthquake in China, according to an Israeli broadcaster.

The areas pictured are Guan Xian and Guan Gyuan which are believed to have been severely hit by the quake and subsequent mudslides.

The first image shows a neighbourhood in Guan Xian that has been buried by mudslide. Then a broken dam can be seen, apparently in Guan Gyuan.

Next there is a shot of an area where refugees from Guan Xian have gathered together; the houses that can be seen that remained in tact have apparently been built recently and therefore sustained the quake.

Finally there is a shot of main roads that have been disrupted by mudslides.
