NatWest bows to hostile takeover bid One of Britain's largest banks, NatWest, has finally conceded defeat after a bitter five-month takeover battle. NatWest directors have recommended that shareholders accept a bid by the much smaller Royal Bank of Scotland to form the third largest bank in Britain.
