Vote for lower age of consent The House of Commons in Britain has voted to lower the age of consent for homosexual men from eighteen to sixteen. The bill was passed by a majority of 161. The measure was blocked last year by the upper chamber, the House of Lords, but the government has said it will use special parliamentary powers to force the bill through if the Lords try to stop its passage again.
