Gibraltar votes

The people of Gibraltar are voting in a general election, after a campaign largely dominated by domestic issues.

The incumbent centrist Social Democrats hope to benefit from the colony's thriving economy, and and opinion polls suggest they may win a second term in office.

But the main opposition Socialists say the government has not done enough to help workers and the aged.

Both parties have firmly rejected the Spanish claim to the territory, saying Gibraltar must remain British.
