MSF pulls out of Ogaden The medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres has suspended its activities in part of the Ogaden region of Ethiopia following an attack on one of its vehicles. The driver, a locally-recruited man, was killed and a French logistics expert seriously wounded. An MSF spokeswoman said he was pulled out of the car after being shot in the chest and was then shot in the side and left for dead. She said the attack was carried out by a group of about ten heavily-armed men but did not know why it took place. Rebel groups are active in the area. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
