The tournament was disrupted by fog and winds
Tiger Woods came back from seven shots off the pace with seven holes to play to make the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am his sixth consecutive title.

Woods started his final round five shots adrift of overnight leader Matt Gogel.

The World No 1 fired the lowest final round for a champion in the 53-year history of the event, an eight-under par 64 to finish on the 15-under total of 273.

The win has seen him installed at odds of 80-1 to complete the sweep of all four Majors this year.

Gogel missed a two-foot putt at the 18th which would have taken the pair to a play-off.

Woods sees a birdie chance go by
Woods had already posted his challenging score and the pressure proved to much as the USPGA rookie watched crucial birdie chances slip by at the 17th and 18th.

Woods became only the third player to win six titles in as many events.

The 24-year-old matched Ben Hogan's run of 52 years ago.

Byron Nelson set the all-time record with 11 straight titles in 1945.

That's one of the things I learned from being out here - anything can happen down the stretch," Woods said. "You just have to give yourself a chance."

Ironically Pebble Beach was the scene of his second-worst tour performance of 1999, when he finished 53rd.

That came in a year when Woods won eight tournaments, the most in a single year since Johnny Miller in 1974, and claimed the money title with a PGA Tour-record $6,616,585.

Woods has already won $1.2m this year.

The Pebble Beach tournament had been disrupted by poor weather.

Thursday's round was postponed due to heavy wind and rain and Sunday's third round was suspended due to fog on one of the event's three courses.
