US spokesman to step down The State Department spokesman in Washington, James Rubin, has said he will leave his post in April. Mr Rubin has been the longest-serving spokesman in President Clinton's administration, and a senior advisor to the Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. Mr Rubin is to move to London where his wife, the CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour, is based. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
