Angolan military helicopter in fatal crash

Reports from Angola say that several people have been killed in a helicopter crash at the Lubango air base in the south of the country.

Angolan radio quoted an official statement as saying that an Angolan Air Force helicopter bound for Luanda was destroyed shortly after taking off from the base on Saturday.

The statement did not specify how many people were killed.

It said a team had been sent to the site to investigate the cause of the accident.
