Controversial Indian film work re-starts Work on the controversial Indian film, Water, has been resumed following a government order for a temporary halt to shooting. Reports say there was a heightened police presence as Hindus demonstrated against the filming, in the holy city of Varanisi in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier in the week, the government said filming could be re-started after the director, Deepa Mehta, amended certain scenes. The film concerns a relationship between a widow and a man from a lower caste. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
