Owls stung by late double

De Bilde: Put the Owls ahead but they failed to capitalise

Derby 3-3 Sheff Wed

Derby scored two goals in injury time to complete a remarkable comeback against Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park.

You can go for the negatives but I prefer to go for the positives and for 98% of the game we were superb
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Wilson
Wednesday's beleaguered boss Danny Wilson must have been rubbing his hands at the prospect of only his fifth win of the season when Simon Donnelly scored in the 89th minute to make it 3-1.

But two goals in two minutes from Craig Burley and Malcolm Christie saw the points shared and Wednesday's 3,500 supporters stunned.

Gilles De Bilde gave the Premiership stragglers the lead with a 21st minute header.

And for once things appeared to be going according to plan for Wilson as Gerald Sibon added another with a brilliant volley midway through the second half.

But Branko Strupar headed home sub Georgi Kinkladze's cross to spark a Rams' revival 19 minutes from time.

Wednesday looked to have survived it, especially when Donnelly fired his first goal for the Owls with a minute of normal time to go.

But once again Wednesday crumpled in the face of adversity and allowed two more precious points to escape.
