A train bomb and a market blast in two cities in Pakistan left five people dead and more than 40 injured.

The first explosion was at a railway station in Hyderabad, in southern Sindh province.

The bomb went off just as the train was leaving for the city of Mirpur Khas, also in Sindh, a local senior police official said..

It exploded in the first carriage of the train.

Three passengers died at the scene, another later in a hospital.

Many more are in a critical condition with lost limbs and deep wounds.

Punjab bomb

Another bomb, left on a bicycle, exploded at a market in the city of Jhang in central Punjab province.

It killed one person and injured at least 10 others.

It went off outside a butcher's shop according to a senior police official.

Most shops in the market were shut because of a public holiday.

Kashmir day is a national holiday to show solidarity with Kashmiri separatists.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts, but police pointed the finger at India.

"It is a Kashmir day. You can judge yourself who could have done this," said Saud Mirza,Sindh's deputy inspector-general of police.

"We are investigating, but it is significant that the explosion happened when people were observing a Kashmir day," Khosa added.

Witnesses in Hyderabad said hundreds of people had gathered at the railway station and at the hospital where the injured had been taken, they accused the police and government of security lapses.

Previous attacks

The Hyderabad blast was the fifth in five weeks in Sindh.

Early last month, 18 people were injured in a bomb blast in the city.

On January 17, a bomb exploded in Karachi, killing eight and injuring another 22.

Two separate bomb blasts in Karachi on January 28 left four people dead and 20 injured.

The day of solidarity to demonstrate support for separatists in Indian Kashmir, has been an annual event here since 1990.

Pakistan and India have fought two of their three wars since 1947 over the territory.
