More deaths in Kosovo violence The number of people who've died in ethnic violence in the northern Kosovo town of Kosovska Mitrovica has increased. The French peacekeeping troops in the region say that at least five ethnic Albanians died overnight in the mainly Serbian part of the town. Earlier reports had put the number at three but the French say another person had died from their injuries and a further body had been found. The French military commander in northern Kosovo has asked local community leaders to appeal for calm, following a series of violent incidents. These followed a rocket attack on a bus which killed two Serbs near the town on Wednesday. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
