Child murderer jailed for life

Here in Britain A man who physically abused his girlfriend's four-year-old son so badly that he died has been jailed for life for murder.

A court in Nottingham in northern England had already heard that thirty-three-year-old Gary Davies subjected the boy and his eight-year-old brother to an horrific level of sustained torture.

For the four-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, it ended when his crying one night woke Davies, who made him put on several layers of clothing and jog on the spot in front of an electric fire, before plunging him into an ice-cold bath.

The child died of hypothermia.

Passing sentence in London, a judge recommended Davies should serve at least fifteen years, and also jailed his mother for two-and-a-half years for cruelty.
