British foreign minister in Jordan The British Foreign Secretary, Robin Cook, arrives in Jordan tonight at the start of a brief Middle East tour. He hopes to encourage renewed Arab support for Yasser Arafat's efforts to promote peace between the Palestinians and Israel. In Jordan, Mr Cook will meet King Abdullah and government ministers and will later go to Egypt. There, he's expected to meet President Hosni Mubarak. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
