Delegates in Baghdad on humanitarian mission A delegation of prominent leaders from humanitarian organisations has arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad to mark the ninth anniversary of the start of the Gulf War. The sixty-member team, led by the former United States attorney general Ramsey Clark, will deliver aid worth two million dollars to hospitals and schools. Mr Clark, who arrived by land so as not to break United Nations sanctions, said they were a gross violation of human rights. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
