Guinea-Bissau votes for President

Voting is taking place in Guinea-Bissau in the second round of presidential elections which mark the final stage of a return to democracy.

The opposition leader, Kumba Yallah of the Party for Social Renewal is challenging the interim president, Malam Bacai Sanha of the PAIGC or Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde.

In the first round of voting, Mr Yallah won fifteen percent more of the vote than the interim president.

Mr Sanha's party ruled Guinea-Bissau from independence from Portugal in 1974, until a military coup last year.
