Bangladesh pilots fired after plot attempt Officials in Bangladesh say three pilots of the national airline, Biman, have been dismissed in connection with a plot to free four men jailed for the assassination of the founding president, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in 1975. An airline official said the three pilots were removed in the public interest. Newspaper reports say they are related to some of the four men who were jailed for their part in the coup of 1975 in which the president was killed. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
