Caprivi Strip ambush claims lives

Police in Nambia say there's been another ambush in the north-eastern Caprivi Strip, close to the border with Angola, and that at least four people have been killed.

The attack took place in the area where three French children were shot dead earlier this month in an attack blamed on Angolan rebels of the UNITA movement.

A survivor of yesterday's incident said armed men appeared from the bush and opened fire on the vehicle he was travelling in between Katimo Mulilo and Rundu.

He said he heard the attackers speaking Portuguese and that they wore uniforms similar to sported by UNITA fighters.

The victims are all thought to be Namibian.
