Defence lab privatisation plans dropped The British government has abandoned a controversial plan to privatise secret research laboratories run by the Ministry of Defence. The plan to sell off a majority stake in the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency, which runs the laboratories, was dropped after objections from the United States.
