Saudis amnesty thousands Saudi Arabia has announced that it's pardoned more than four-thousand prisoners convicted of minor crimes. A statement carried by the official news agency said the amnesty was ordered by King Fahd and included nearly two-thousand foreigners. It gave no reason for the move, but such amnesties are often declared to mark religious occasions such as the end of Ramadan in Muslim countries. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
